I just heard Rick Santorum say this on the news "Obama once said that he wants all Americans to go to college... What a snob!" He then said something about Obama wanting everyone to be in his image. There are so many things wrong with that statement. First of all, higher education only enables people to go farther in life and have a good career. Why would someone who wants to be president not want the citizens to be all that they can be? That seems a bit counter productive. The next generations need to be educated so that they can be the future leaders of the country. How can this happen if they are not educated? College is not mandatory as grade school is, but it is necessary. Most teens about to graduate high school will mention college as an immediate plan. Obama has been making this easier. He has been trying to keep tuition costs down. He knows how vital it is for people to continue their education. My parents always have told me that an education is the one thing someone can never take away from you. It is a statement that should be said more.

While I understand what the demon-child (as I now call the Sanitorium) was trying to say in regards to technological jobs-even THOSE people need an education. Their parents aren't going to be able to give them a workshop or the materials needed for homeschooling in specialized fields and isn't the Republican party ALL about creating more in the work field? O.o It seems counter-productive laying off TENS OF THOUSANDS if not HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS hard-earned workers with teachers, administrators, social workers, school psychologists, nurses, custodians, text book writers, etc etc, even LUNCH LADIES would lose their jobs!!!! I'm sorry but HUNDREDS of children receive FREE MEALS (myself included) and it was a LIFESAVER; when you're left with 17 CENTS in your wallet after feeding your kid a mother or father is GRATEFUL for what comes from free lunches and breakfasts! There were also groceries for school breaks; coats and warm sweaters for those that were of lower income. :-( :-( Like some of these don't even come from the state but hard working teachers taking it out of their own pockets!!!! Education is ESSENTIAL for children and their families, don't take that away, Nuthouse!
